Quest Hotel and Cebu Pride Movement Successfully Kick Off Pride Month
Quest Hotel, in partnership with the Cebu Pride Movement, successfully launched Pride Month with a vibrant celebration that took place on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 3 PM to 6 PM at the Quest Hotel Lobby. This event was dedicated to honoring the contributions of notable Cebuano LGBTQIA individuals and fostering a sense of community and pride.
The celebration featured the opening of a Photo Gallery, a special exhibit showcasing the significant achievements of prominent Cebuano LGBTQIAs. Notable individuals included Cattski Espina and Jude Gitamondoc for their contributions to music, Atty. King Anthony Perez for his work in academia, Margo Frasco for her impact on the arts, Alem Garcia and Enrique San Juan for their advocacy in LGBT rights and health, and Dexter Alazas for his influence in the fashion industry.
Quest Hotel’s General Manager, Mia Singson-Leon, delivered a heartfelt tribute to Jay Unchuan, a notable LGBTQIA figure and a prominent personality in Cebu’s music scene, as well as a resident judge on Sinulog Idol. She highlighted Jay's legacy and his lasting impact on the community.
The event also featured inspiring messages from LoveYourself representative Ralph Tamayo and Cebu Pride Festival representative Ramon Matthew Basabe, who shared their thoughts on the importance of unity and acceptance within the LGBTQIA community.
The celebration concluded with a captivating Broadway medley performance by talented Cebuano Drag Queens, Chloe Sparkles, Vi Ponce, and Vae Zha Yass, who brought the spirit of Broadway to life and left the audience in awe.
The kick-off event was a resounding success, marking the beginning of a month dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the remarkable contributions of the LGBTQIA community in Cebu.
